TRADESMAN Deal to Dealer The Wasteland Belt

A desert drawn on the west side of the map became a zone because players asked the obvious question.

Wasteland Update

AZAMATIKA’s late-2025 roadmap letter is unusually clear. The original Early Access plan opened the map in slices. The Wasteland was not even on that five-item list. They had drawn a desert on the west side. Players assumed a desert. The studio decided to build a desert. By 1.0 (27 August 2026) that belt is part of the shipped world, with quests attached, even if the developers still talk about filling it.

This page is preparation, not a fake atlas of unnamed sand towns.

What we know without inventing streets

  • Geography: west of the starter kingdoms, visually a wasteland/desert.
  • Motivation: map art plus player assumption plus extra content beyond the original EA pitch.
  • Content: a zone with quests, plus catch-up work on old regions in the same development stretch.
  • Economy: the 1.0 cargo rule still applies. Sand does not cancel +5 rarity danger.
  • Standing: 2025 already doubled reputation gains globally, so new towns should not feel like 2024 treadmills — reputation.

Confirmed from the 20 April 2026 Steam notes, not from guesswork: sleeping in Grampstead cannot rob you; demand stars show on map hover; a Red Flag marks spawn in a settlement; Silvermineham sells silver after a medium condition; potion stacks went from 3 to 5; weather is shorter but gained effects you can read on the map’s top-right. Date-ordered list: patch notes.

We will not name every new stall. When a desert town’s demand row is stable, it goes on the trade-route table and the map. Until then, treat Wasteland as high-danger roads plus new pins, not as a place to dump four Military legendaries because the biome looks late.

How to prepare the cart

  1. Finish a human or bear lane you trust — squad builds.
  2. Own a cart that is not the tutorial box — carts. Overnight watch matters more when camps look unfriendly.
  3. Pack food, not ego. Cooking talents and pillar food slots exist for long hops — talents.
  4. Keep a cleanse/shout if desert fights borrow mole-style tricks. Combat.
  5. Copy the save folder. Desert patches in EA-era style have rewritten data before — controls.

Animal haulers that already work (bear, Bigfoot) are better desert insurance than a new horse. Animals. If a future patch adds heat-specific beasts, we will say so on updates. We will not preview a sandworm we have not seen.

Quests and tone

Expect the same five flavours: Go, taxi, classic pins, soulslike vagueness, plot. Desert jokes will be dry because of course they will. Do not skip pins to “pure trade”; unique hires hide on pillars here too. Quests.

Boss screenshots from 2025 Saturday posts (winged knights, crypt stairs) are adjacent content, not always inside the sand. If a Wasteland pin points at ruins, bring holy kits from the cemetery belt, not only bears.

Why this zone exists in a $5 game

Because the map had a blank and the audience can read. That is the whole pitch. 1.0 is not a live-service season pass. It is a finished comedy sim that still has edges. Drive west when the rest of the loop is boring, not when Grampstead peasants are your only HP.

Official news stays on Steam app 2555430. Discord and @indie_vova post work-in-progress shots. Mirror: links. When a ninja patch adds a named oasis, this page will stop being a warning and start being a list. Until then, haul light into the heat.

If you are coming from the 1.0 launch letter, remember the same cargo rule still owns this belt. A desert road with four Military legendaries is a self-inflicted raid, not an endgame checklist. Sell down, cook, and read Version 1.0 before you treat sand as a loot pinata. The western map is a destination you earn with a real lane, not a shortcut around Getting Started habits.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common merchant questions.

Is Wasteland in the 1.0 build?

Yes as a western zone with quests. The studio still talks about filling it. Treat edges as unfinished, not as missing DLC.

Do I need new talents for the desert?

No mandatory ninth tree has been announced. Bring cooking, a shout, and a real hauler.

Will Wasteland add multiplayer?

No. The game remains single-player.

Where do I go if I am not ready?

Stay on trade routes in the starter kingdoms until a bear or paladin lane exists.
