TRADESMAN Deal to Dealer Mercenary and Goods Tiers
Rankings for Version 1.0. Cargo still sets the fight budget — hire and haul accordingly.
Tier lists on this wiki are arguments with evidence, not patches from AZAMATIKA. TRADESMAN: Deal to Dealer has no official PvP ladder. What we can rank is how often a hire or a stack earns its slot on a 1.0 save: Early Access from 18 June 2024, full release 27 August 2026, single-player only.

Read them with the combat guide and the trading guide open. An S-tier bear is an F-tier idea if Leadership is still locked. An S-tier armor crate is an F-tier idea if your commons cannot escort it.
How we score
Availability. A legendary that needs 10,000 reputation and a talent gate is not a starter pick. Reputation and talents are the real unlock trees.
Slot tax. Four mercenaries plus one hauler. If a unit needs a babysitter, it drops a letter. Squad builds shows full lanes.
Cargo math. Goods that add Guard health, opening Parry, or +5 rarity danger get marked even when the sell price looks holy. Getting Started is still the page that saves new merchants from filling four wells on day one.
Patch memory. Hunter beast-scrolls were nerfed. Reputation gains were doubled. Epic copies are limited. We do not rank 2024 Early Access ghosts. Check Version 1.0 if a YouTube video predates those changes.
What a letter means here
- S — hire or haul whenever the gate is open. Changes the save.
- A — strong in its region or category. Worth a detour.
- B — honest work. Peasants live here and should.
- C — comedy, passenger, or trap. Use for a quest, then sack.
Animals have their own discussion on animals and transport because a hauler is both a combatant and a cart part. Cart chassis themselves are not letter-ranked; carts is a materials guide, not a PvP list.
If your localisation shows different item jokes (“it doesn’t saw if you hold it with two hands”), match on demand tag and rarity, not on the punchline. Official strings move; demand tags have been stable.
Use the trade-route tool after you pick a goods letter so the town you drive toward actually wants the stack. Use the mercenary hub after you pick a hire letter so you know which pillar or stall sells them. Updates is where we retire a letter after a ninja patch. Until then, treat S as “I would spend a legendary scroll on this,” not as “I would bet a friend in multiplayer” — this game is single-player.

Why are goods ranked at all?
Because cargo sets enemy strength. A high sell price with a +5 danger bump can be a downgrade. See goods.
